The chopper, which has flown briefly on six occasions, is made from scrap aluminium that Abdullahi bought with the money he makes from computer and mobile phone repairs, and a donation from his father, who teaches at Kano’s Bayero university.
Okay, even though it has only risen seven feet. That’s still something. Abdullahi hopes that the Nigerian government begins investing in homegrown talent, as opposed to relying upon western manufacturers.

I don’t know about the angry black Muslim Woman, however i”m curious why you describe yourself that way. Too often we talk about the negative way CNN and the western media depicts Africans and the Middle East, we also go ahead to lambast them for racism and segregation. Alas sometimes, we’re found wanting too. When you state “Who says Muslims don’t have talent”that’s segregation speaking out to me. Personally i think we often make the mistake of classifying people in a box and we’re so rigid that we do not allow them out. I think for once, we should learn to ourselves irrespective of our religious differences and celebrate our success as a nation. Think about it,in the western world, when individuals achieve a major breakthrough with a product or sevice that could impact positively on humanity, they’re not celebrated based on their religious affiliations.

January, read my page “About this Blog” for an to your question. You clearly miss the humor in my use of the term. Even though you criticize me for essentializing people based upon religious categorizations, you still speak of nation. What nation are you talking about? That seems like its a construction in and of itself. Muslims do see themselves as part of tribes and “nations” but there is a concept of Ummah. That is a community based upon spiritual orientations. This concept of Ummah is also linked to tawheed, one God, one World, one Humanity. This concept of Ummah has connected me with people from every ethnicity and from all parts of the world, China, Eastern Europe, South Asia, Africa, America, all over. I think you also need to get your terms right when you talk about segregation.
